Men's Exit Abroad: Lysovyi Discussed Possible Easing of Travel Restrictions

The parliamentary council is considering the possibility of easing the travel ban for men of conscription age. Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lysovyi mentioned that he discussed this idea with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, but so far it remains at the conceptual level.

Lysovyi believes that children of conscription age should be given the opportunity to move freely, without restricting their opportunities for travel. He emphasized the need for reforms in this area now so that Ukraine creates a quality environment for young people going abroad and develops awareness among children about the prospects and opportunities in Ukraine.

The minister considers that liberalization, trust, and freedom are more important than closing borders to create favorable conditions for Ukrainian youth.

Moreover, Lysovyi highlighted the importance of trust in people and faith in their honesty, emphasizing the successful practice of academic mobility and the importance of properly selecting candidates for travel abroad.

The minister also pointed out that the phenomenon of 11th-grade students leaving for abroad is not widespread, however, this migration issue is linked to the war and requires attention, especially from a security perspective. He confirmed that all Ukrainian children returning from abroad will find a place in the Ukrainian school, regardless of their level of knowledge.

A plan is also being discussed to require students in Ukraine to work in their field after graduation.
