Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva met with the Director-General of the European Bureau of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan Katsura Kitagawa as part of his first visit to our country.
The meeting took place as a continuation of the dialogue between the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida, the OP reported.
The parties discussed the results of international events dedicated to the points of the Peace Formula concerning energy and food security.
Special attention was paid to the preparation for the next thematic conferences and the second Peace Summit. In addition, there was talk about the need to increase the number of countries in support of the Joint Communiqué, primarily among representatives of the Global South.
Also, during the meeting, they discussed the implementation of a bilateral security agreement that the leaders of Ukraine and Japan signed this June.
"We are grateful to Japan for its unwavering support of Ukraine and active participation in joint efforts that bring the establishment of a just peace closer. Japan's position on protecting international law is worthy of emulation," emphasized the Deputy Head of the Office of the President.
Ihor Zhovkva and Katsura Kitagawa agreed on joint steps for preparing for upcoming international events, in particular, the UN General Assembly session and the organization of separate events on its sidelines.
