Russia is taking measures to protect Black Sea Fleet ships and the Kerch Bridge
Russian aviation constantly patrols the waters around the Russian Black Sea Fleet base to protect the ships. According to the spokesman of the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, helicopters are used to combat drones, and barriers and observation posts are also installed. However, the installation of floating barriers near the Kerch Bridge cannot be completed due to the rough waters, which periodically destroy these structures.
According to Pletenchuk, all combat units of the Black Sea Fleet are located in Novorossiysk, while other possible locations, including the port in occupied Abkhazia, are not used. The Russian side is taking a comprehensive set of measures to protect the fleet and ensure the maximum safety of its remnants.
