US President Donald Trump has declared a state of emergency in Kerr County, Texas, due to a massive flood that has already claimed the lives of 59 people. In total, the natural disaster has resulted in at least 69 deaths. This was reported by the portal 'Glavkom', citing Trump's account on Truth Social and CNN.

Trump stated that he signed a declaration of a large-scale natural disaster for Kerr County, Texas. The President acknowledged that many people have died, and many are missing. A rescue operation and flood recovery efforts are ongoing, having successfully rescued over 850 people.

"The Trump administration continues to work closely with state leaders and local officials. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, along with Governor Greg Abbott, is actively working to assist the residents of the state," Trump emphasized.

According to CNN, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) deployed its teams to Texas immediately after Trump signed the document. The US Coast Guard is using helicopters and C-144 planes equipped with thermal imaging cameras to search for survivors in the Llano area of Texas - these operations have allowed for the rescue of 850 people.

The Flood in Texas Has Led to 69 Fatalities

The total number of flood-related deaths in Texas has risen to 69, including 59 people who died in Kerr County, among them 38 adults and 21 children. Another 12 people are considered missing, including 11 children and one camp counselor from 'Mystic', most of whom have perished.

It was previously reported that an extensive search and rescue operation was underway in Texas after the flood, which has resulted in at least 24 fatalities. The fate of dozens of missing children from the 'Mystic' camp near Kerrville is still unknown.

The flood in central-southern Texas occurred on July 4 along the Guadalupe River.
