Trade Wars: German Companies Improve Economic Forecasts.

German Businesses' Expectations Have Improved
Economic expectations of German companies improved in May due to reduced concerns over President Donald Trump's trade policy and anticipated increases in government spending. According to the Ifo Institute, the expectations index rose to 88.9 in May, exceeding analysts' forecasts. However, the current conditions indicator decreased slightly.
Experts' Forecasts
Despite the improved sentiment, the German economy remains in a state of stagnation. This indicates a prolonged trend of maintaining Germany's GDP unchanged until 2025. According to the Bundesbank, uncertainty over trade tariffs could lead to stagnation in production in the country during the second quarter, which could negatively affect exporters and business investments.
Experts urge the government to wisely use the fiscal package funds to support infrastructure and military matters to improve prospects. However, they also emphasize the need to reduce bureaucracy to stimulate economic growth.
Overall, fiscal policy is considered one of the main hopes for Germany, according to Monika Schnitzer, who heads the expert commission on this matter.
