The Cabinet limited the receipt of veteran grants.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has amended the Procedure for the use of funds provided in the state budget to ensure the activities of enterprises, institutions, and organizations of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs. The changes include restrictions on the repeated receipt of grants and strengthened requirements for candidates, said Cabinet representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk.

Three-year restriction on repeated grants

According to the updated rules, participants who have previously received budget grants from the Ukrainian Veteran Fund cannot participate in competitions for three years after the Fund approves the final report on the grant agreement.

Exceptions apply in cases where the applicant participates in the competitive selection of a project in a direction unrelated to the one for which they have already received a grant from the Ukrainian Veteran Fund.

Strengthened requirements for organizations

Requirements for public organizations applying for budget grants from the Ukrainian Veteran Fund have also been tightened. Now, budget grants can only be granted to public associations where the head or a member of the collegial executive body is a veteran or a family member of a veteran.

These changes are aimed at ensuring more effective and targeted use of budget funds, as well as guaranteeing that grants are awarded to organizations that represent the interests of veterans and their families. The new rules are intended to prevent abuses of the granting system and ensure a fair distribution of funding among different projects and organizations in the veteran community.

The Government of Ukraine has made important changes to the Procedure for the use of funds for veterans, aimed at ensuring greater transparency and efficiency in the use of budget grants. The three-year restriction on repeated grants and strengthened requirements for organizations will help avoid abuses and ensure that funds are directed to support the interests of the veteran community.
