One of Ukraine's main hitmakers told how he lost seven 'Volga' cars.

Ukrainian composer Vadym Kryshchenko shared about his life, which was filled with financial successes and losses. He stated that during Soviet times he managed to accumulate enough funds to purchase seven 'Volga' cars.

Thanks to his works and performances at concerts, Kryshchenko was able to save 70,000 karbovanets. With this amount, he was able to buy seven 'Volga' cars. However, due to economic changes, his savings became worthless, and he lost social support.

“The lyrics did not bring me great income. When VAPP was operational, it was important for your song to get performed by a good artist, and you would receive some kind of fee. I can say that the biggest fees were received by Mykola Mozhovyi for the song “My Native Land, My Native Land.” But I was always paid decent money as well. It was important if the song became popular and started playing in restaurants and other establishments. But I was never wealthy. I worked and saved money for the future. In the Soviet Union, I saved 70,000 karbovanets. With this amount, one could buy seven 'Volga' cars. But then everything burned down, and the money was lost,” - Vadym Kryshchenko said.

Despite the losses, the composer does not give up and continues to work actively. Thanks to successful concerts, he managed to save even more money - 250,000 dollars. This Time he decided to trust his savings to 'Forum' bank to secure his old age.

“Then I started accumulating money again through concerts. I gathered 250,000 dollars and deposited them in 'Forum' bank. It seemed that everything was fine and the future was secured. But then 'Forum' bank went bankrupt, and I was returned only 200,000 hryvnias,” - Kryshchenko reported.

Currently, the composer lives on the pension of a people's artist, which he has to share with his son, who is in a difficult situation. Despite this, he remains optimistic and is thankful to friends who help him in tough times.
