The administration of US President Joe Biden made an important decision regarding the expansion of technical support for Ukraine.
According to Reuters, American defense contractors are granted permission to work in Ukraine for the maintenance and repair of military equipment previously provided by the Pentagon.
According to an anonymous senior US official, it concerns a limited contingent of technical specialists who will work at a safe distance from the front line and will not participate in combat operations.
"Deploying a small number of contractors in Ukraine who will perform technical maintenance far from the combat zone will ensure prompt repair and proper maintenance of American equipment if damaged," said a US government representative.
Experts consider this decision a significant change in US policy aimed at strengthening support for Ukraine in its resistance to Russian aggression.
