Zelensky: The Russian Federation intends to seize Odessa and approach the borders with Moldova and Romania.


At the 'Ukraine - Southeast Europe' summit, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the threat from Russia, which consists of plans to seize Odessa and approach the borders with Moldova and Romania. He called for strengthening defense and cooperation, emphasizing that Russia interferes in the affairs of other countries, including the Balkans.
'Putin does not plan to end this war. Therefore, he continues his aggressive actions to remain in the political game,' the president emphasized.
Zelensky also expressed the need to support defense, increase sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, and expedite the approach to the EU and NATO to ensure security in the region.
Infrastructure projects and cooperation
During the summit, attention was also drawn to the importance of cooperation in infrastructure and the development of alternative transport routes through ports not controlled by Russia. The president urged participants to act together to ensure the future security of the region.
Among the summit participants was also President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, who arrived in Ukraine when the situation in the Balkans was deteriorating.
During the summit, Ukraine and its partners discussed the threat from Russia, as well as emphasized the importance of cooperation to ensure security and development in the region. Special attention was given to defense, infrastructure, and alternative transport routes.
