Three times cheaper: prices for young potatoes have fallen in Ukraine, how much do tomatoes cost.

The first month of summer has brought a pleasant surprise for Ukrainians - prices for essential vegetables, especially potatoes and tomatoes, have suddenly decreased compared to May figures. According to the analytical portal 'Minfin', large retail chains such as Metro, Auchan, Novus, and Megamarket showed a significant drop in prices by the end of June 2025.
As reported by 'Khylya', the actual drop in prices was observed for young potatoes: the average price per kilogram at the end of June was only 30.63 UAH, which is almost three times less than in May (89.15 UAH).
The best deals can currently be found at Novus (27.99 UAH). Other types of potatoes have also become cheaper: regular - from 34.75 UAH to 33.55 UAH, pink - from 41.04 UAH to 38.38 UAH.
Price dynamics for tomatoes
Tomatoes have also undergone a price decrease. In particular, the price for 'plum' tomatoes has fallen from 134.18 UAH to 111.08 UAH per kilogram, while pink tomatoes have become cheaper, decreasing from 125.87 UAH to 117.73 UAH.
Red tomatoes demonstrated the greatest price variation among stores, allowing for savings by choosing Novus (72.99 UAH) instead of Auchan (118.60 UAH).
Hope for further price decreases
This dynamics is a distinctive signal of the peak of the season and gives consumers hope for further price reductions of domestic vegetables. It should also be noted that popular berries are also becoming cheaper, which will allow consumers to save on purchases.
Ukrainians can rejoice, as prices for essential vegetables, such as potatoes and tomatoes, have suddenly dropped in large retail chains. There is hope for further price reductions of products, which will contribute to consumers' savings.
