Woltz commented on negotiations with Ukraine and answered questions about Donbas.

In his first interview after the negotiations in Jeddah and yesterday's speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President's advisor Michael Woltz shared details of the diplomatic process. In a conversation with Fox News, Woltz noted a significant difference in the approach of the Ukrainian side compared to the previous meeting in the Oval Office.
'In Jeddah, we saw a completely different approach from the Ukrainians, unlike what we saw in the Oval Office on February 28. They were willing to engage, we had very good discussions, and at one point we even pulled out a map and started drawing on it to discuss how we would end this war,'
Commenting on Putin's statement yesterday, where the Russian president expressed readiness for an agreement but with many conditions, Woltz expressed 'cautious optimism' about the possibility of reaching agreements. 'I will not announce or speculate about anything on television, but we have a certain cautious optimism. Of course, both sides will have demands, and of course, both sides will have to make compromises. Shuttle diplomacy is taking place,'
he noted. In response to a provocative question from journalist Sean Hannity about a possible transfer of parts of Donbas or other 'densely populated by Russians' territories to Russia, Woltz answered affirmatively, adding that this issue is being discussed by both sides.
It is worth noting that the host's questions from Fox News raise doubts about objectivity, especially in the context of mentioning 'densely populated by Russians territories of Ukraine,' the existence of which is questionable.
The question of what specific compromises Ukraine should make remains open, considering that its main requirement right now is the absence of restrictions for its army and the continuation of rearmament as the only guarantee of security.
