The military assessed the likelihood of enemy offensive on the northern borders.

The operational situation on the northern borders of Ukraine remains largely unchanged
According to the spokesman of the operational-tactical grouping of troops 'Siversk', Colonel Vadym Mysnyk, in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions, which border Russia, the situation remains almost unchanged. The Russian side continues shelling the border area.
He stated that the Russians are actively focusing on defense due to events occurring in the Kursk region. They are strengthening their military presence at the border, placing minefields, and conducting diversionary actions against Ukrainian defenders.
The spokesman also noted that Russia is actively preparing for defense, considering the situation in the Kursk region. Ukraine is also reinforcing its defense system. Due to constant reconnaissance, Ukrainians find it difficult to prepare anything without disclosure, but when the Russian army approaches the border, Ukrainians respond immediately and strike at the enemy's military equipment and observation means.
Special attention was drawn by the spokesman to the use of strike drones by Russian enemies, in particular 'Shahed', which are most often used at night, although they are monitored even during the day in Sumy region. However, the shelling and use of guided aerial bombs have not increased compared to the autumn.
The spokesman emphasized that the Russians are not forming large groups for offensive actions. Ukrainian intelligence provides objective information regarding the logistical capabilities of the enemy. The enemy mainly uses railways and stations controlled by Ukraine. Ukrainian forces appropriately respond to this situation and can track the movements of the enemy.
