In June, during the matches for the Canadian Shield, the Ukrainian national team presented new players. In the game against Canada (2:4), Mykola Mykhailyenko made his debut, and Oleksandr Martyniuk also played for the first Time against New Zealand (2:1).

Under the leadership of Serhii Rebrov, a total of 13 players have already debuted for the Ukrainian national team. In the previous match against New Zealand, the team achieved a victory with a score of 2:1, with goals scored by Oleksii Hutsuliak and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The Canadian Shield is part of the preparation of the Ukrainian national team for the upcoming World Cup 2026, as Canada is one of the hosts of the tournament. Unfortunately, the first match ended in a loss for Ukraine, but the victory over New Zealand improved the situation. For the young players, their debut in the tournament was an important experience on the way to the World Championship.
