Gas production in Ukraine reaches historical maximum: figures announced.

Ukraine reached a record level of natural gas production in 2024
In 2024, Ukraine made significant progress in natural gas production. The total production volume is 19.12 billion cubic meters, which is the highest level since 2018 and 2.2% more than in the previous year (18.7 billion cubic meters). This was reported by the publication ExPro.
Especially impressive is the fact that the increase in production occurred amid a prolonged war that has been ongoing for nearly three years. After a 6% decline in 2022 due to the Russian invasion, the industry not only recovered but continues to show stable growth. The production volumes in 2024 significantly exceed the dynamics of 2023, which was only 0.9%.
The state-owned enterprise 'Ukrgasvydobuvannya' is the industry leader, achieving the highest indicators in the last six years - 14.55 billion cubic meters of gross natural gas, which is 4.6% more than in 2023. The company also set a record for the production of commercial gas, reaching 13.9 billion cubic meters - the highest level since 2014.
Public Joint Stock Company 'Ukrnafta' also demonstrated impressive results, increasing production by 6.6% to 1.17 billion cubic meters - the best indicator since 2016. The success of state companies is based on active drilling and extensive well work.
The private sector faced some challenges, recording a decline in production by 8% to 3.4 billion cubic meters. However, after the resumption of 'Ukrnaftoburinnya' operations in August 2024, a gradual improvement in the indicators of private companies is observed.
Industry experts note that the Ukrainian gas production sector demonstrates stability and has the potential for further growth. State companies are already developing ambitious plans for the next year, while private operators are increasing investments, indicating positive prospects for the sector's development in a favorable regulatory environment.
