Venislavsky explained whether demobilization will take place after the termination of martial law.

After the termination of the legal regime of martial law in Ukraine, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not be automatically demobilized. This is confirmed by a member of the Verkhovna Rada's Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Fedir Venislavsky.
The Ukrainian law on mobilization preparation and mobilization states that demobilization can only be carried out by a separate decision of the president, which requires approval by the Verkhovna Rada. Therefore, even in the case of the termination of martial law, the demobilization of servicemen will not occur automatically, explains Venislavsky.
Furthermore, the people's deputy believes that a decision on demobilization will not be made in the near future due to the continuation of the war.
The Verkhovna Rada approved laws on the extension of martial law and mobilization. 357 people's deputies voted for these laws, one voted 'against'.
Martial law was introduced in Ukraine at the beginning of 2022 due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation.
During martial law, a special legal regime is in effect in the country, which gives the authorities the necessary powers to ensure security and repel aggression.
In addition, there is a general mobilization in Ukraine, under which citizens aged 18 to 60 may be drafted for service if they do not have legal grounds for deferment or exemption from military registration.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed laws on the extension of martial law and mobilization, which will be in effect for several years.
