In Ukraine, a grant program has been announced to support families with children with disabilities.

Ukraine is launching a grant program to support families with children with disabilities and to create family-type children's homes (FTCH). This was announced by the head of the parliamentary committee on state governance and the leader of the 'Servant of the People' party, Olena Shulyak, as reported by RBC-Ukraine.
The program provides for grants of 60 thousand dollars each, and the total project budget exceeds 6 million dollars. Funding is conducted in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine, the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities, and the UNICEF, with the support of international partners within the SPIRIT project.
Grants can be received by communities and social service providers that meet the established criteria. The project covers 11 regions of Ukraine: Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Lviv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Chernivtsi regions, and the city of Kyiv.
Funds will be used to provide social services to families with children with disabilities, including day care, support during inclusive education, temporary respite for parents or guardians, social support for families in difficult life circumstances, and housing for orphans and youth aged 16 to 23 who are registered.
The program also provides for subsidies for purchasing housing for families creating family-type children's homes. In 2025, it is planned to provide housing for more than 120 such families. Priority will be given to families who were unable to purchase housing due to the war, newly established FTCHs in 2025, FTCHs that became forced migrants, and families returning from evacuation.
'Supporting such initiatives is an important part of the country's recovery,' said Olena Shulyak. According to her, the project aims not only to assist vulnerable categories of the population but also to strengthen the institutional capacity of communities and develop the social protection system at the local level.
We also remind you about fraud, as Ukrainians were previously warned about a new scheme for obtaining the status of 'child of war.'
