14 children killed by lightning strike in Uganda.


In a refugee camp in Uganda, 13 children and one adult were killed as a result of a lightning strike. More than 30 people were injured, reports the BBC, citing local police. 34 people were injured.
Uganda police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke told the BBC that the deceased adult was 21 years old, but did not specify the exact age of the children who died.
The incident occurred at the Palabek camp in Lamwo, in the northeast of the country. Shortly before, heavy rains with thunderstorms and lightning had passed through the area.
The mentioned area is inhabited by over 80 thousand refugees, mostly from South Sudan. According to reports, the lightning struck a church where a service was taking place.
Recall that on Saturday, October 26, a Wizz Air flight from the Georgian city of Kutaisi to Prague returned to the airport after being struck by lightning. Lightning struck the plane twice shortly after takeoff. Witnesses heard a loud noise.
