The mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi, announced the results of the competition for the construction of a new Orthodox church, the Icon of the Mother of God of the Quick Response. These competitions were held according to architectural principles and criteria. He announced this in his post on the social media network Facebook.
According to Sadovyi, this building will be the first Orthodox church erected in the historical part of Lviv in the last 130 years: 'We plan to carry out the construction after the end of the war with charitable funds. It will be a combination of ancient Orthodox traditions and modern architectural solutions.'
Architect Andriy Lesiuk noted that in this church, the facades and domes will be built of brick. The technologies used ensure strength and comply with environmental requirements. This building made from natural materials will harmoniously fit into the natural landscape. A special atmosphere is created thanks to the lighting. The bell tower will be separated from the main building, thus complementing the style of the church and creating harmony. Additional premises such as a Sunday school, restrooms, and other functional areas are also planned under the building.'

At the same Time, on the site of a controversial self-built construction in Lviv, plans are underway to create a public space. The Lviv City Council reports that on Lychakivska Street, 259, where a building was recently demolished, a recreation area will be arranged.
