The world's largest crocodile in captivity died in Australia.

In the Marineland Melanesia Crocodile Habitat reserve in Australia, the world's largest crocodile named Cassius, who was in captivity, died. He was 5.48 meters long and weighed over a ton. This was reported by Reuters.
The cause of the crocodile's death has not been established, but researchers suggest that Cassius was over 110 years old. According to reserve representatives, his health began to deteriorate on October 15, 2024. The crocodile lived much longer than most of his wild relatives.
We will miss Cassius very much. Memories of him and his significance to us will forever remain in our hearts. Thank you to everyone who supported him and showed care throughout his life
Cassius lived in the reserve since 1987 and was included in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest saltwater crocodile in captivity after the death of the Philippine crocodile Lolong, who was 6.17 meters long.
Previously, in the town of San Pedro Huamelula in the state of Oaxaca, local mayor Victor Hugo Sosa dared to marry the crocodile Alicia Adriani to perform an ancient ritual for the prosperity and well-being of his fellow citizens.
