Ukraine amazed with its performance at the World Cup in powerlifting and bench press among athletes with visual impairments, which took place in Kazakhstan. The Ukrainian team, consisting of six athletes, won 35 gold medals and set 13 world records.

The women's team of Ukraine won first place, and in the overall standings, the Ukrainians took third place. Among the awardees were Rimma Bahnyuk, Svitlana Korobkova, Nina Asieieva, Volodymyr Drany, Roman Kurov, and Anatoliy Dermansky.
