Ukraine supported the Paris Declaration on Mental Health.


A conference on mental health took place in Paris, gathering representatives from governments, experts from around the world, and specialists from 34 countries. The aim of the event was to integrate mental health issues into all areas of life - from education and work to social policy. The Ukrainian delegation supported the Paris Declaration on the importance of mental health support across various fields of life. This means that care for mental health must be considered at all levels of governance - not only in medical institutions but also in schools, workplaces, social services, and community initiatives.
'For Ukraine, which is seeking ways to restore the healthcare system during the war, it is essential to integrate mental health issues into all areas. We aim to build a resilient society where mental well-being becomes a shared responsibility of all - the state, citizens, employers, and educational institutions. Basic psychosocial assistance is already provided in over 5,000 centers and primary healthcare ambulances. Mental health centers operate in 124 hospitals,'- explained the head of the Ukrainian delegation and Deputy Minister of Health of Ukraine Igor Kuzin.
Mental Health Conditions in Ukraine
According to sociological research, Ukrainians are experiencing a decrease in satisfaction with their mental state. The main source of psychological tension is the war and all associated problems. The Ukrainian government is taking measures to improve the mental health of citizens by expanding the list of services in this field and providing necessary assistance to patients.
The conference held in Paris on mental health confirmed the importance of implementing a supportive approach to mental health at all levels of society. In light of sociological research, Ukrainians feel less satisfied with their mental state, which requires government attention and support to improve the situation.
