Evading Mobilization - How Offenders Are Punished.


Recently, there has been increasing talk about the responsibility of citizens who evade military conscription during mobilization. Punishments can range from fines to imprisonment. The Criminal Code provides for imprisonment for a term of three to five years for evading conscription. However, courts often replace this punishment with a probationary period.
It is also important to know that violations of mobilization legislation can result in fines of up to 20 thousand hryvnias, and for ignoring summons - up to 8.5 thousand hryvnias. This is not an insignificant amount, as otherwise, bank accounts may even be blocked. It is better to comply with legal requirements to avoid troubles.
Recently, facts have emerged regarding the escape of conscripts abroad using fake documents. Such actions will not go unpunished, and the authorities promise to hold the guilty parties accountable. Therefore, it is better to comply with the law to avoid serious problems.
