On July 2, around 6:00 PM, a powerful explosion occurred at a gas station in Zhytomyr. The incident took place at a gas station on the eastern outskirts of the city, in the village of Berezino.
Witnesses report several explosions at the gas station. A massive fire with thick black smoke is observed at the scene. Telegram channels are spreading videos and photos showing a 'fire mushroom' over the city.
Media sources in law enforcement confirmed the explosion. Preliminary information indicates that the incident is not of military origin.
Traffic on the Zhytomyr highway is complicated due to the incident. A large traffic jam has formed on the road towards Kyiv, and the road is blocked. Fire engines are heading to the scene.
