Three-day mourning declared in Poltava region for victims of missile strike.


A three-day mourning has been declared in the Poltava region for the victims of the missile strike on September 3. This was announced by the head of the Poltava Regional State Administration, Philip Pronin, in Telegram.
The mourning will last for three days and will start tomorrow, September 4.
Starting tomorrow, the region will be in a three-day mourning. Eternal memory to all the victims. The enemy must be held accountable for all crimes against humanity.
It is worth reminding that today, on September 3, around 9:10 in Poltava region, two explosions were heard during an air raid alert. The Ukrainian Air Force reported a rocket heading towards the city.
Later, eyewitnesses told Ukrinform that the strike on Poltava was very powerful, with black smoke rising up into the sky. The Poltava blood transfusion station, operating on the premises of the regional hospital, urgently announced a blood donation campaign. Additionally, an operational headquarters for the elimination of the aftermath of the strike in Poltava has been set up. It is preliminary known that over 10 residential buildings were damaged.
At noon, the head of the Poltava Regional State Administration and President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed a Russian missile strike on Poltava. Hits were recorded on the territory of a educational institution and a neighboring hospital. Over 40 dead and more than 180 injured.
According to the current information, two ballistic missiles hit the territory of an educational institution and a neighboring hospital. One of the buildings of the Communication Institute was partially destroyed. People were trapped under the rubble. Many were rescued. More than 180 people were injured. Unfortunately, many died. As of now, 41 fatalities have been confirmed. My condolences to all the relatives and loved ones.
The head of the state has ordered a full and prompt investigation into all the circumstances of what happened. All necessary services have been involved in the rescue operation.
