In Pakistan, a terrorist blew himself up at a railway station: 25 people were killed.


An explosive attack occurred at a railway station in the province of Balochistan, Pakistan, resulting in the death of 25 people, including 14 military personnel. More than 50 people were injured. According to an AFP report, the bomb exploded in Quetta city as passengers were waiting for a train to Rawalpindi.
According to local police representative Muhammad Baluch, 14 military personnel were among the dead. About 50 injured are in critical condition, noted the Inspector General of Balochistan Police, Muzamm Jah Ansari.
The separatist group "Baloch Liberation Army" claimed responsibility for the attack. They stated that their target was military personnel. The police also believe that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber. Investigations are ongoing, and the city has declared a state of emergency.
This conflict has been ongoing in Balochistan since 1948. Baloch nationalists are still fighting for independence. The governments of Iran and Pakistan face this conflict as Baloch Sunnis oppose Persian Shiites in Iran, and in Pakistan, they oppose the Hazara Shiites, who are a minority in the region. Discrimination against Baloch Sunnis in the Islamic Republic of Iran is also an issue.
