The IMF Warned of a New Challenge for the Global Economy.

The Managing Director of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, warned of a new challenge caused by the customs policy of the United States and changes in international trade. According to her, this only exacerbates uncertainty for the global economy.
Georgieva made the statement during a speech at the Spring Meetings of the IMF and the World Bank.
She noted: 'We have significantly lowered our global growth forecasts. Major changes in trade policy only enhance uncertainty, and this is accompanied by tighter financial conditions and greater market volatility.'
In other words, a new serious challenge has arisen before the global economy
The Managing Director of the IMF links this to the potential consequences of the aggressive US campaign on taxing foreign imports. This forces companies to delay investments, while consumers are postponing expenditures.
Georgieva emphasized that 'uncertainty is bad for business.'
She urged countries to 'quickly resolve' trade disputes that negatively affect global growth.
Georgieva also noted that the IMF intends to take into account the concerns of the US Treasury Secretary and expressed gratitude for the support.
Regarding climate issues, Georgieva mentioned that the Fund does not have climate experts but recognizes the need for macroeconomic support for countries suffering from extreme weather changes.
