The EU assessed the possibility of direct negotiations between Ukraine and Russia with the participation of the USA.

The spokesperson of the European Commission, Paola Pinho, confirmed that upcoming negotiations between Ukraine and Russia may take place with the involvement of European and U.S. states. She announced this information during a briefing.

Any details regarding the meeting, including the format and location, have not yet been made public. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed a desire to organize a meeting with delegations from Russia, the USA, the European Union, and Great Britain on the territory of Turkey, the Vatican, or Switzerland.

President Zelensky thanked the Federal Chancellor of Germany for support and discussed the possibility of rebuilding the country after the war.

Additionally, within the discussions regarding sanctions of European countries, the possibility of introducing the 18th EU sanctions package is being considered, which will target Russian oil, energy infrastructure, banks, and financial schemes.

It is also worth noting that the presidents of the USA, Ukraine, and Russia managed to agree on the beginning of negotiations aimed at ending the war and achieving peace between the states. The participation of European countries and the USA in this process is significant.
