Fines up to 25500 hryvnias and new rules: what threatens Ukrainians for ignoring the Military Medical Commission.

The Ukrainian military medical commissions are an important part of the mobilization system for 2025. They not only determine who must undergo a medical examination, but also control the validity of the examination and the possible consequences in case of evasion from the commission.

According to a recent report by NV.ua, the military medical examination involves mandatory medical evaluation for various categories of persons, such as conscripts, servicemen and their family members, military personnel and reservists, candidates for training in military educational institutions, and individuals who have been discharged from service. The examination also establishes fitness for service and the presence of a causal link between diseases or injuries and the performance of military duties.

The validity of decisions by the military medical commission depends on the situation. In case of mobilization or martial law, they are valid for one year after the examination, while in peacetime they are valid for five years. If a military personnel is deemed temporarily unfit for service, this information must be communicated to the regional military medical commissions no later than five days after the examination is completed.

In general, most military personnel must undergo a medical examination once every five years. Reserve officers and non-commissioned reserve staff undergo examination in various cases. Individuals deemed unfit for service can be sent for re-examination after being assessed in specialized healthcare facilities.

The process of undergoing a military medical examination in 2025 consists of three stages: obtaining a referral through the 'Reserve+' application or at the TCK and SP, undergoing a medical examination within 15 days, and receiving the conclusion of the military medical commission in the electronic cabinet or on paper.

Citizens who have not undergone the military medical commission by June 5, 2025, may be subject to administrative liability and incur financial fines. However, the fine may be waived in the presence of valid reasons for missing the deadline.
