It will become very expensive: Ukrainians were warned about unpleasant changes from May 3.

From May 3, the cost of apostille in Ukraine will sharply increase - a special stamp that confirms the validity of an official document abroad.

This was reported by MP Igor Fris, referring to data from the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. 

The price for this service will increase 11 times. Currently, an apostille costs 51 hryvnias, but from this week, the price will rise to 610 hryvnias for individuals and to 1060 hryvnias for legal entities.

This sharp increase is explained by the fact that the cost of the service has not changed for ten years. This innovation will be particularly noticeable for citizens who need to certify several documents at once, which will make the process significantly more expensive.

An apostille is valid in 112 countries that signed the Hague Convention of 1961. This stamp can be applied to the entire document or to individual pages, although this process has certain peculiarities.

It is important to know that not all documents can be apostilled. Documents such as passports, military tickets, weapon permits, and employment records cannot be apostilled. This limitation should be taken into account when planning the legalization of documents for use abroad.
