It has become known that a "mysterious" plane has been circling over Ukraine for the second day.

The Ukrainian government commented on the unusual movement of a plane named Welcome over Lviv. According to the flight tracking resource Flightradar, on April 21, this plane was the most tracked flight in the world. It later turned out that this is a Saab 340 AEW&C airborne surveillance and control aircraft, which was gifted to Ukraine by the Swedish side.
Rumors have also spread online that this movement indicates preparations for the resumption of air traffic from Lviv. However, the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development denied these rumors, stating that appropriate security conditions are needed for such a resumption.
The movement of Welcome was explained by conducting checks of aeronautical equipment in accordance with the requirements of Ukrainian aviation regulations. These checks are carried out to maintain the equipment's airworthiness and can be conducted in other parts of Ukraine's airspace as well.
The head of the communications department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that an An-26 military transport aircraft is flying under the name Welcome, performing a specific task. Ignat emphasized that dozens of different types of aircraft and helicopters, both combat and training, operate daily in Ukraine's airspace.
At the same Time, Moscow proposes the opening of direct air traffic with the United States as part of a ceasefire agreement with Ukraine. However, the problem with this scheme is Europe's disinterest, and without EU support, it will be difficult for Russian carriers to fly to the USA.
Furthermore, Brussels is concerned about flight safety due to counterfeit and uncertified parts used in Russian aircraft.
