Export and transshipment of cargo through the Ukrainian maritime corridor is increasing
According to Deputy Minister of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure Timur Tkachenko, exports through the Ukrainian maritime corridor from the beginning of the year to November 2024 amounted to 73.4 million tons of cargo.
'From January to November, we processed 91.1 million tons of cargo, of which 89.9 million tons were transported. This is 70% more than during the same period last year when 52.8 million tons were transported,' he stated.
The largest volumes of cargo from January to November were grains - 56.1 million tons, exceeding last year's figure by 39.4 million tons, as well as ore cargo, the volume of which increased from 3.2 million tons in 2023 to 16.7 million tons.
'An important role in achieving such results is played by the Ukrainian corridor, through which 73.4 million tons of cargo have been transported since the beginning of the year. Throughout November, Ukraine's seaports handled 7.6 million tons of cargo, which is more than last year's 6.7 million tons. Thanks to joint efforts, international support, and the Armed Forces, Ukraine continues to maintain its positions in the global transportation market and reaffirm its status as a reliable partner,' Tkachenko reported.
