Pensioners and beneficiaries in Ukraine receive extended assistance from the UN: how to get it.

The UN provides additional payments to Ukrainian pensioners, internally displaced persons, and people with disabilities. According to a statement from the Ministry of Social Policy, the UN financial assistance will last until the end of May. The conditions for receiving such payments include pensioners, people with disabilities, and citizens who are not entitled to a pension. These payments are provided by the World Food Programme of the UN together with the Ministry of Social Policy and the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
The program covers 507 thousand people, and the total amount of payments is 272 million hryvnias per month. The amount of assistance is determined as the difference between the current pension or social payment and the sum of 3,250 hryvnias. For example, if a citizen receives a pension of 2,700 hryvnias, they will receive an additional 550 hryvnias from the UN.
To receive this assistance, no additional documents or applications are required - funds will be transferred in the same way as the main payments. The initiative aims to support the most vulnerable groups of the Ukrainian population and has been in effect since August 2023.
Pensioners must meet the following conditions to receive assistance: receive a pension of less than 3,250 hryvnias, not receive financial assistance as IDPs or from other international organizations, and reside in areas of active or possible hostilities in certain regions.
People with disabilities can also receive assistance from the UN if they are not entitled to a pension or are persons with disabilities, have disabilities from childhood, or are children with disabilities, receive state social assistance of less than 3,250 UAH, do not receive financial assistance as IDPs or from other international organizations, and reside in areas of active or possible hostilities in certain regions.
In addition, Switzerland also provides financial assistance to Ukrainians of up to 5 thousand dollars.
