Driver's Trap: Alcohol in a Parked Car Will Result in Huge Fines.

Negative Consequences of Consuming Alcohol in a Car
During the May holidays, some drivers in Ukraine choose to relax by drinking alcohol in their cars. However, according to lawyers, this can have serious legal consequences.
“Drinking alcohol in a car poses significant legal risks for the driver, even if the law does not explicitly prohibit such activities,” warns an expert.
The main issue lies in the difficulty of proving the driver's intentions. If patrol officers notice someone showing signs of intoxication behind the wheel even in a stationary vehicle, this can be interpreted as an attempt to drive while under the influence.
Increased Responsibility for Violations
For violating such rules, Ukrainian drivers may face fines ranging from 17,000 to 51,000 hryvnias, as well as a suspension of driving rights for a period of 1 to 10 years. Additionally, the police may classify this as a violation of public order or drinking alcohol in public.
“Driving a car and alcohol is an unacceptable combination, even if you do not plan to drive. The risks are so high that they can destroy any enjoyment from such entertainment,” emphasizes the expert.
Every day, many Ukrainians get into the car while drunk, especially during weekends and holidays. Lawyers recommend choosing safer options for relaxation, such as visiting entertainment venues or spending Time at home, which ultimately will not only be safer but also cheaper, considering the risks of getting fined and troubles with the law.
“Even in a stationary position, a car remains a source of potential danger, especially when the driver is intoxicated,” summarizes the expert.
