The 18th-century church in Zaboryl was destroyed by chainsaws

Unknown individuals decided to destroy the 18th-century wooden church in the village of Zaboryl in the Rivne region using a chainsaw. The crime was committed with the intention of damaging a historical building dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. This was reported by Mykola Bendyuk, head of the art cluster of Ostroh Academy.

«Another 'funeral' of our history and culture. It’s sad that no one has yet been held accountable for the destruction of the church in Rozvazh. Recently, Ostroh city builders, who consider themselves patriots, destroyed an 18th-century tomb. And now, destruction again», Bendyuk wrote.

This is not the first case of church objects being destroyed in this region. Earlier, in the village of Vysotsk, which is on the border with Belarus, a wooden church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which was nearly 150 years old, burned down.

Observations of the ongoing destruction of church buildings cause outrage among citizens and demand punishment for those responsible for this crime.
