MP fined for drunk driving
The former MP and head of the State Agency for Recovery and Development of Infrastructure, Mustafa Nayyem, was fined 17,000 hryvnias and stripped of his driving rights for a year due to drunk driving. The incident occurred on May 30, 2024, during curfew in Kyiv.
Nayyem was driving a BMW on Mykola Mykhnoisky Boulevard. A video recording by the police captured as the public servant was offered to undergo an alcohol test at the scene using the 'Drager' device, to which he agreed. The test showed a result of 0.62 promille.
Nayyem was found guilty and was fined 17,000 hryvnias along with losing his right to drive vehicles for a year. He is also required to pay a court fee of 605.6 hryvnias.
In October 2024, Mustafa Nayyem began working as a senior advisor at the organization Promoting Integrity in the Public Sector Activity and continues to work at this organization to this day.
