The language is language... A police officer from Kyiv region prepares for the exam, shakes the network (video).

A video has been circulating online featuring a police officer from the Kyiv region, who expressed his love for the Ukrainian language during the exam. This video is quickly gaining popularity among users of Telegram channels and regional groups.
All public servants must pass an exam in Ukrainian to fulfill their official duties. This exam lasts 60 minutes and includes 30 test questions, one written task, and one oral task (monologue up to 20 minutes).
A language proficiency certificate is required for the leadership of the National Police. The exam instructions require the candidate to deliver a monologue on a chosen topic. The applicant must demonstrate the ability to express thoughts orally in accordance with the aims and tasks of communication.
According to open sources, the police officer from the video, named Serhii Babin, is 39 years old and works in Borispol. He is preparing for the exam and must talk for three minutes about the significance and role of the Ukrainian language.
In the video, the police officer constantly emphasizes his love for the Ukrainian language and tries to describe what it means to him. However, he is unable to formulate a coherent thought.
"Language is a value, I love language. Language is life, language is the nightingale language. I love language. I communicate in this language, language is the best language... Language is what was written in Ukrainian 'Kobzar'. The best language is only the Ukrainian language. Language is the best poems written by poets," is quoted from the video.
Users react differently to this police officer's monologue. Some Ukrainians understand him and are sympathetic to the man, perhaps because he was unprepared. But many people were surprised by such knowledge and the way he expressed his thoughts, as well as the passing of qualification exams.
We remind you that in an interview with the head of the State Language Standards Commission, Yulia Chernobrov, it became known what the new exams for proficiency in Ukrainian look like, who among the ministers already has a language certificate, and she also commented for the first Time on the scandal that occurred in 2022.
