Russia introduces new military training module for teenagers
With the beginning of the school year in Russia, a new military training module for children aged 15 to 18 has been introduced. This module is part of the program called "Foundations of Homeland Security and Defense." This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain on their Twitter page.
It is noted that the course consists of 11 modules, providing 68 instructional hours. Among the topics included in the course are general military combat and introduction to firearms. Its goal is to "develop values, acquire knowledge and skills that ensure readiness to perform the constitutional duty to protect the state."
According to British intelligence, the implementation of this program will lead to an increase in the military orientation of society.
The new youth strategy approved by the government in August 2024 aims to increase the prestige of military service, instill patriotism and civil responsibility, but primarily to prepare youth for military service mentally and physically. It also includes an increase in the number of summer camps for children participating in military events.
According to the strategy, over the past 30 years, the values of young people have changed from collectivism to individualism and from statism to cosmopolitanism. It states that the ideological expansionism of Russia's geopolitical competitors has led to the weakening of traditional values and the growth of individualism.
The new strategy aims to change this process, and the militarization of youth is an essential part of this process
