Kosovo in a Deadlock: Economic Consequences of a Prolonged Political Crisis.

The Parliament of Kosovo Cannot Elect a New Speaker
The Parliament of Kosovo has failed to elect a new speaker for the fifteenth Time in a row, which creates serious limitations for the country. After months of a politically troubled government situation, this threatens to jeopardize the necessary funding from the European Union and the World Bank.
Legislative leaders will attempt to elect a new speaker, which is necessary for Prime Minister Albin Kurti to form a new government. However, without cross-party support, the speaker candidate Albüleni Haxhiu constantly lacks votes.
On Wednesday, she received 54 votes
In response to this crisis, businesses in Kosovo are in uncertainty due to the government's inability to implement necessary reforms and fiscal policies. Projects and loans worth millions are at risk due to political complications.
The situation is currently uncertain, but if the parliament continues to fail to elect a speaker, it could lead to the loss of necessary funding from international organizations, which could become a serious problem for the future of the country.
