Ukraine Facility Fund: how 400 million euros in aid have been allocated.


European macro-financial assistance for Ukraine
With the help of European macro-financial assistance, the Ukraine Facility has already spent over 400 million euros to support education, healthcare, and social protection for internally displaced persons, veterans, and families of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Head of the State Audit Office of Ukraine, Alla Basalaeva, during her speech at a seminar for local government leaders, stated that a significant portion of the funds has been allocated to the regions. By 2027, when the Ukraine Facility program will be in effect, this amount will continue to grow.
'Funds from the Ukraine Facility are subject to strict control and reporting. Therefore, we thoroughly check all financial reports for accuracy and compliance with the declared expenditures,' emphasized the Head of the State Audit Office.
Alla Basalaeva stressed that monitoring the financial discipline of local government bodies is not just about comparing figures and indicators.
'It is important for us to understand whether the appropriate conditions for citizens' life are being created, whether resources are being used rationally, and whether quality service provision is ensured. Our goal aligns with yours - to make people's lives more comfortable and secure,' she emphasized.
Ukraine expects the allocation of 50 billion euros under the Ukraine Facility to support necessary reforms for joining the European Union.
The State Audit Office is also responsible for state financial control of expenditures related to the implementation of the steps of Ukraine's Plan and must coordinate the fight against fraud within the Ukraine Facility.
In conclusion, the allocation of funds from the Ukraine Facility to support education, healthcare, and social protection is a step towards strengthening civil society in Ukraine and preparing the country for European integration. The mentioned amount is aimed at improving citizens' lives, their security, and ensuring quality public services.
