Creation of fake accounts of the president and other officials

The Center for Countering Disinformation has discovered that fake accounts of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, First Lady Olena Zelenska, Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, and Head of the SBU Vasyl Malyuk have appeared on Telegram. Official accounts have the appropriate verification.

The president, first lady, and head of the office have official accounts that have the appropriate verification mark (a blue check), while the activities of the SBU head are covered on the official verified account of the Security Service of Ukraine.

The Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized that all other channels are fake. Some even rename old cryptocurrency exchange public pages.

Spread of fake advertising from the Ministry of Defense

Russian propagandists are spreading fake advertisements from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, urging young people to sign contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine for money, which are equated to sets of sushi. The Center for Countering Disinformation emphasized that such a campaign has never existed, and there is no similar information on the official resources of the Ministry of Defense.

Information about the Hungarian operation 'Turul' has also spread, which envisages the return of a part of Ukrainian lands to Hungary. Videos are published, showing armored vehicles that, as it turns out, are being pulled to the border with Ukraine.

During the investigation, it was found that the HungaryBased account publishes provocative messages about the 'return of Transcarpathia'; however, the Center for Countering Disinformation confirmed that this account has nothing to do with Hungarian media or government structures.
